Manufacturing path

What we control on this route, and how we prove it.

Below is the manufacturing path for this capability: the equipment we run it on, the in-process inspection we apply, and the evidence that ships with the lot. Compare it against your print — if a control is missing from your drawing, we will flag it in the DFM note.

CNC turning removes material from a rotating workpiece to produce shafts, sleeves, bushings and threaded components. Live-tool or turn-mill operations can add cross-holes and flats; slender parts require a separate review of support and machine suitability.

What we make

Common parts made via cnc turning

Stainless hydraulic manifold after CNC turning

Hydraulic manifolds & valve bodies

Review turned diameters, port threads, sealing faces and concentricity. State the thread standard, leak-test expectation and which bores must be measured on the first article.

Bone screws manufactured on a Swiss lathe

Precision pins and instrument shafts

Review slenderness, runout, thread or drive features and surface finish. Fine pins and instrument shafts need a support-method review before the machine type is confirmed.

Drive shaft after CNC turning

Shaft & fastener production

Review overall length, diameter stack, thread class and batch quantity. Repeat shaft work needs an agreed sampling plan rather than a one-off turning quote.

How we work

Materials, tolerances, equipment

CNC turning removes material from a rotating workpiece to produce shafts, sleeves, bushings and threaded components. Live-tool or turn-mill operations can add cross-holes and flats; slender parts require a separate review of support and machine suitability.

Typical parts and project fit

This process is considered for shafts, bushings, valve bodies and threaded connectors. Tecpreva reviews the drawing, material condition, quantity and functional requirements before confirming the production route.

Drawing and inspection checklist

Identify diameter, overall length, concentricity, thread standard and slenderness. Supply a revision-controlled 2D drawing, STEP model, finish specification and critical dimensions. Machine positioning accuracy alone does not define achievable part tolerance.

What is the difference between CNC turning and Swiss turning?

Conventional turning usually holds a workpiece in a chuck or collet. Swiss turning supports bar stock near the cut with a guide bushing, which can help small slender parts. Availability and suitability must be confirmed for the actual part.

From first article to repeat production

Agree the fixture and datum strategy, first-article checks, sampling plan and dimensional report scope before production. Record revisions and protect functional surfaces during finishing and packing.

Bring a drawing

Send your CNC turning drawing for review.

Include geometry that drives this process, material grade, quantity and the inspection points that matter. Engineering sends an initial response within one business day and confirms the proposed route after drawing review.
